Are Natural Oils Really Effective?

If you have a grandmother, you surely have heard of her stories about what her secret to long life or beauty is. And apparently, they’re all found in her garden or kitchen.

And, true to her stories, some of our personal care products actually do have these ingredients. The problem is, what most companies do is just add in this “special” ingredient to an already existing care line, and voila! They have a new product with their bad product, and you get to pay even more.

Imagine what would happen, if you knew exactly how much of these natural ingredients are in what you use, and what if you knew how to use them? Below are some of the most beneficial natural products that will work wonders.

Aloe vera

Aloe vera has  properties that are calming. According to studies, it is also antibacterial, and help heal wounds faster. In fact, when undergoing dermabrasion, aloe vera is used to speed up the healing of damaged skin.

Green tea

Everybody should be drinking tea. However, it can also be used as a topical treatment too. There are studies that prove it is effective in reducing UV damage as well as acne treatment.

Vitamin C

It would be insane to wash your face with orange juice. What you can do though, is use cream that has Vitamin C which reduces redness and even works to minimize wrinkles.

Tea tree oil

One of the most useful natural product is the tea tree oil. You can use it instead of benzoyl peroxide, which causes cancer and damages the skin. Tea tree oil is as effective when it comes to treating acne.

Here are the more specific uses for tea tree oil:

  1. General disinfectant. By mixing tea tree oil into your bath water, you can get a great and gentle disinfectant for your skin. Just 10-12 drops of this oil into your bath water will give you wonders. It serves two purposes as it also relaxes the muscles.
  2. Acne treatment. By diluting tea tree oil, it can serve as a topical cream that works as well but not as hard as benzoyl peroxide.
  3. Boils and carbuncles treatment. Because of the antibacterial, antifungal and antiseptic properties of tea tree oil, it is a common treatment for boils and carbuncles because it speeds the healing process and also has some properties that relieve you from discomfort.
  4. Warts Treatment. Many researches prove that tea tree oil is a very effective treatment for warts. Simply apply the tea tree oil formula. You will notice the warts to turn white and then fall off. You could feel some stinging sensation, but there is no need to worry as this is only natural.
  5. Canker Sores Treatment. By diluting a few drops of tea tree oil in warm water and gargling the solution daily, you can rid yourself of those annoying canker sores.
  6. Yeast Infections Treatment. You can use tea tree oil as a douching treatment for yeast infections. By combining tea tree oil and isopropyl alcohol, and then diluting this solution in water, the antifungal properties of tea tree oil will immediately address this embarrassing problem.
